France international Kylian Mbappe has been backed by Cameroonian football legend Samuel Eto’o to take over from Barcelona captain Lionel Messi whenever the latter retires from football.
For more than 10 years now, the name of Lionel Messi has been ringing the bell in the world because of his impressive performances for Barcelona. So far, Messi has won six Ballon d’Or awards in his career and has never played for any other club than Barcelona.
The Argentine football star will be turning 33 in June, while his greatest rival Cristiano Ronaldo will be turning 35 in which many have been asking who will replace them.
Kylian Mbappe, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, is only 21 and the Frenchman, whose father is Cameroonian, has already won the FIFA World Cup with his nation.
Samuel Eto’o, who played with Lionel Messi at Barcelona, however rated his former teammate as the best and also claimed that Kylian Mbappe will grow to replace him.
“The best current players? I’d have to go with Lionel Messi, who’s more experienced, and Kylian Mbappe, who’s the youngster making the biggest impression.”
”I think he’s going to be the chief global star in the years to come,” Eto’o explained while speaking in live video with Generation Amazing.
