Ex Malawi international Josephy Kamwendo has invited former PSL players to his testimonial match.
The former Orlando Pirates and Malawi national team midfielder is hosting his testimonial match on Saturday, March 7 in Blanyrye, Malawi after officially retiring from active football last year December.
After his retirement Kamwendo formed the Joseph Kamwendo Foundation (JKF) and immediately embarked on organising a testimonial match, which will include the players he has played with in South Africa and Malawi national team, ‘The Flames’.
Kamwendo who also played in Zimbabwe for CAPS United and DRC for TP Mazembe told FARPost that ex PSL stars mainly former Pirates players will play in that match.
The players according to Kamwendo include Sibusiso Zuma, Lucky Lekgwathi (pictured above), Joseph Makhanya, Steve Lekoelea, Bennett Chenene and Katlego Mashego.
“We are very grateful today to announce that we will be welcoming former Bafana Bafana stars next week in the name of Sibusiso Zuma, Lucky Lekgwathi, Tonic Chabalala, Mahoota who is Katlego Mashego and Joseph Makhanya. The game will be on 7th March at the Kamuzu International Stadium in Blantyre, ” Kamwendo said.
Other players to feature will include former Black Leopards defender Peter Mponda, former Dynamos goalkeeper Swadick Sanudi and former Bloemfontein Celtic winger Fischer Kondowe to mention but a few.
