In the January transfer window another South African young player left his comfort zone and took a leap to a club in Europe.
Born in 1998 in Florida Johannesburg South African centre-back Luke Adams is another youngster looking to make a name for himself abroad as he recently signed a long term deal with Portuguese third division side Sintrense SAD.
The young defender is a product of Bidvest Wits, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Randburg FC youth teams which is where his craft was developed and now he will be hoping to make the most of his opportunity abroad with age on his side.
Portugal has become a friendly place for South African young players to start their journeys in Europe with over 10 youngsters from Mzansi plying their trade between the Portuguese second and third division alone which is a good sign that it is a breeding ground for our boys.
