Family tragedy hits Downs star keeper

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango will not be available when they face Highlands Park at Lucas Moripe Stadium tonight.

The man from Uganda has been dealt a blow with the passing of his father.

“It’s with great sadness that we learnt of the passing on of the father of Denis Onyango. The club has released Denis to mourn this great loss and he will immediately leave for Uganda with his family,” confirmed the club in a statement this afternoon.

Jose Ali Meza is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, rejuvenated forward Jose Ali Meza has been added to the injury list at a time when he was on form.

The Venezuelan is struggling with his ankle and is ruled out of the match against Highlands.

The other players out injured are Oupa Manyisa (Achilles’ tendon), Emiliano Tade (knee), Anthony Laffor (knee), Lucky Mohomi (knee), Tiyani Mabunda (ankle), Keletso Makgalwa (ankle) and Ricardo Nascimento (groin) are not available for selection at this stage.
