February can’t wait for June

Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Jody February says playing alongside Dennis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene and Reyaad Pieterse is reason enough for him to look forward to being part of the team.

The 23-year-old was one of the five new signings by Masandawana ahead of the 2019-2020 season, but was immediately loaned to Glad Africa Championship side Cape Umoya United for the rest of the season.

The loan switch happened at the last minute on deadline day on August 31.

“I’m obviously looking forward to working with the likes of Onyango, Pieterse and Mweene. They have the best goalkeeping department, so I think that’s enough motivation for me to go there and compete with the best you know,” February told FARPost.co.za. This was after their 1-0 defeat to Jomo Cosmos at Giyani Stadium over the weekend.

“There was never a hesitation for me when (Sundowns) came knocking. When my agent came and told me I said why not? Why not take the challenge on and yah when you compete with the best you will always win trophies and to be around a bunch of winners is good for my personal game,” he added.

February has played in two League matches this season for Umoya who are currently 10th on the log from seven matches.
