5 ex-PSL coaches were considered for Zambia job

Ex-Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic will this afternoon finally be unveiled as the new Zambia coach.

The Serbian’s appointment was ratified by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) a couple of weeks ago, but it needed government approval, because they pay the coach’s salary.

In a letter that was sent by FAZ to the government, it confirmed that five former Premier Soccer League (PSL) coaches were in the running, including Sredojevic.

The list confirmed that Ivan Minnaert (ex-Black Leopards), Giovanni Solinas (formerly with Free State Stars and Kaizer Chiefs), Zlatko Krompotic (Polokwane City) and Kosta Papic, who previously coached Orlando Pirates and Chiefs, were also in the running.

Meanwhile, Sredojevic’s former assistant at Pirates, Rulani Mokwena, has congratulated Sredojevic on getting the job.

Mokwena and the newly appointed Zambian national team coach Micho were having a chat via video call.
