Ntshangase opens up on surprise Baroka move

Newly signed Baroka midfielder Phumalani Ntshangase admits he would have preferred to be playing in the DStv Premiership but takes the Baroka journey as a new challenge to prove himself.

Ntshangase has joined Bakgaga on a one-year deal with an option, after parting ways with Maritzburg United.

Prior to the beginning of the current season Ntshangase trained with three DStv Premiership clubs but failed to secure a move.

The 27-year-old was at Swallows for a couple of days, Chippa United for a week and half as well as Sekhukhune United but nothing materialised.

NTSHANGASE SPEAKS…

“It’s football and these things happen. I always say I have experienced it. You will have very good moments in life, win cups and go to the national teams, all those things but things can change in a twinkle of an eye,” Ntshangase told FARPost.

“Teams will want you when you have a contract like now you are playing and everyone is going to ask about you, but as soon as you are free people keep quiet.

“They make other decisions, they are just human beings like me and you and there is nothing you can do about that.

“But for the fact that I am here today that means it’s God’s plan that I must be here today so it doesn’t matter how difficult it is,” he said.

“Yes, I want to be in the PSL (DStv Premiership) but maybe God has given me another chance. I kind of proved myself a lot in the big league but also with this team I can also achieve more.”

Ntshangase has also confirmed that he was negotiating moves with other Premiership clubs before his surprise move to Limpopo.

“There were a lot of offers, before I came here I was in pre-season with three different teams but the decisions didn’t go away so that’s why I ended up here,” he added.
