AmaZulu coach Jozef Vukusic has already started with the process of reshaping his squad ahead of the January transfer window.

Speaking after his side were held to a goalless draw in the KwaZulu Natal Derby against Maritzburg United at King Zwelithini Stadium, the Slovakian revealed that experienced centre-back Tshepo Gumude is no longer part of his plans at the club and he has informed the player of his decision.

“Regarding Tshepo Gumede he’s not in our plans, so that is a simple answer and he knows that.”

Gumede was signed at the time when Cavin Johnson was still the head coach.

The 28-year-old former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City defender joined AmaZulu midway through the 2018/19 PSL season after parting ways with Cape Town City.

He featured in 6 league matches under the previous coach Cavin Johnson helping the KZN club retain their PSL status after a difficult campaign last term in which they finished 11th.

This season, Gumede has played 7 matches, but Vukusic, who joined AmaZulu in September, will release the defender.

Gumede is still training with the team while the process to release him is underway.
