Baroka assistant coach Matsimela Thoka believes midfielder Khethokwakhe Masuku can add value to their team if he is signed but the decision will be taken solely by head coach Dylan Kerr.
The 34-year-old has been training with Bakgaga since the beginning of last week hoping to impress and secure a contract.
Thoka who has been acting as interim coach for the past 5 games pending Kerr’s work permit says Masuku’s experience can come in handy for the relegation threatened side.
“Yeah I think maybe by next week we will take a decision on whether we sign him or not but he is looking good at training,” said Thoka.
“He is an experienced player I think for me he can give us something but it is not my decision. I think the coach (Kerr) still needs to assess him and anything can happen,” he told reporters.
The former Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards winger was recently playing for Gauteng ABC Motsepe League side Barerwa FC.
Sources within the club told FARPost.co.za that he’s likely to be offered a short-term contract until the end of the season.
