Former Bidvest Wits forward Rowan Human has joined Maccabi Tel Aviv on a one-year deal.

Touted as one for the future, the 19-year-old came through the junior structures at Wits and made an impact especially in the Multichoice Diski Challenge, where he was scoring goals for fun.

But like many players, Human has had to move on following the sale of Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

In Israel, the youngster has signed on an initial one-year deal with an option for two more years.

It’s believed he may be loaned out for now and Maccabi Tel Aviv, in turn, monitor his progress.

Human’s former coach Gavin Hunt once predicted: “He’s the best player in South Africa at his age. There’s no better player than him‚ I believe – I haven’t seen a better player at his age. And I think he’ll be a superstar.”
