Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Quinton Fortune has joined English Championship side Reading FC as their coach.
He leaves Manchester United where he was assistant coach of the U-23 development squad.
Fortune arrives with Nuno Gomes who will also be part of the technical team as well as Reding looks to start a new era going into the new season.
After playing for several clubs in Europe notably at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson, Fortune decided to start a journey in coaching completed his UEFA A License in England.
With Bafana Bafana, the midfielder played a total of 46 caps scoring 2 goals between 1996 and 2005. He played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups and a few Africa Cup of Nations for his country.
In his career Fortune played for Mallorca, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Bolton Wanderers, Brescia and Doncaster Rovers Tubize. He also becomes the first South African international to coach in England’s second tier.
