Frappart to become first woman to officiate in men’s Euro

French football referee Stephanie Frappart is set to become the first woman to officiate at the men’s European Championship.

The 37-year-old has been selected as a support match official (fourth official) for Euro 2020.

Frappart became the first woman to referee in a men’s Champions League match last year in December.

She was also the first woman to officiate a Fifa World Cup qualifier clash in March 2021.

“For the first time, a female official has been selected for a men’s Euro. Stephanie Frappart (France), who has officiated at several matches in Uefa’s men’s club and national team competitions this season. She will be acting as the fourth official at the matches,” said Uefa in a statement.

The tournament will begin on the 11th of June until 11 July 2021.
