Free State Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena has refuted Milton Dlamini’s claims that he has been fired due to poor results.
Yesterday Dlamini was shown the door by ‘Ea lla Koto’ after being only in charge for a period of two months.
Dlamini arrived at the Stars in December to replace Vladislav Heric who was also sacked after just less than six months.
The former Mbombela United and Baroka FC coach was quoted in the media yesterday saying he was sacked for not winning games, but Mokoena says it’s something else.
“It’s an internal issue. Okay I don’t care what he said, but for me it’s internal issue,”said Mokoena.
Asked if as a club they have already identified Dlamini’s replacement, Mokoena said Duncan Lechesa is the one who will be in charge for now. “Not yet. Duncan will be in charge.”
Stars are currently struggling in the GladAfrica Championship in 9th place on the log standings with 28 points after 21 matches. Their next encounter will see them host Real Kings at Goble Park on Saturday, kickoff at 15:30.
