Chiefs knocked out of Nedbank Cup

Kaizer Chiefs have exited the Nedbank Cup at the Last 16 stage after losing 5-4 on penalties to Highlands Park.

When Khama Billiat missed his penalty, it was down to Musa Nyatama to take full advantage and send the Lions of the North through to the quarterfinals, and the former Orlando Pirates man didn’t disappoint.

On a wet surface, the two sides had battled each other for 120 minutes, deadlocked at 1-1.

Peter Shalulile put the home side 1-0 up in the second half, only for his teammate Sello Motsepe to score an own goal to help Chiefs come back into the match.

Luckily for Motsepe, Highlands Park emerged victorious.

The draw for the quarterfinals is on Tuesdsy, while there is more action tomorrow.
