Angry Barcelona fans took to the streets outside the Nou Camp on Tuesday night to protest against President Josep Maria Bartomeu, demanding his resignation.
This is after news broke out on the same day that captain Lionel Messi wants to leave the club.
Messi told the directors he has decided he is going to quit after a major fallout with their treatment of Luis Suarez thought to be the final straw.
But Barcelona fans are understandably desperate for the Argentine to stay and made their feelings known by directing obscene gestures aimed for Bartomeu outside at the stadium, as well as holding up ‘Messi 10’ replica shirts in support of their hero.
Former Barcelona defender Carles Puyol, who was captain and teammate to Messi, also tweeted his support to the Argentine. “Respect and admiration, Leo,” wrote Puyol. “All my support, friend.” he wrote.
Luis Suarez echoed Puyol’s message with a couple of clapping emojis.
The club is yet to release an official statement or comment on the news.
