Galaxy defeat a wake up call – Truter

Swallows coach Brandon Truter admits the 2-1 defeat by TS Galaxy on Tuesday might be a wake up call but he remains proud of his players’ performance.

The defeat was a first in a league match since March 2020 for the Dube Birds, and their second in a row following their Nedbank Cup elimination by TTM last week.

They are now six points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after 17 matches.

“It’s almost exactly a year since we lost our last game, so we look forward to the next home game against TTM where we also want to turn over the Nedbank results,” said Truter.

“This might be a wake up call but the boys did well. I just wanted to say they did very well and I am proud of them. Look I have to motivate them, of course, they are now a bit down with this result.

“Motivating them will not be a problem, we have some experienced boys who can help me in that regard, so yah we look forward to the TTM game so we need to get this game behind us as quickly as possible,” added Truter.

Swallows next five matches are against TTM (home), Chippa (away), Arrows (home), Leopards (home) and Celtic (away).
