In the only GladAfrica Championship fixture on Wednesday, TS Galaxy hosted University of Pretoria at Kameelrivier Stadium as The Rockets try to catch up on the matches they’ve missed during their CAF Confederation Cup campaign
A late goal from University of Pretoria earned them a 2-1 win in an epic encounter.
Galaxy, who missed a glut of chances, had taken the lead through Bathusi Aubass’ penalty but goals from SA U23 stars Athenkosi Dladla and Kamohelo Mahlatsi saw Tuks walk away with maximum points away from home.
After scoring the first penalty, Galaxy were given another penalty but central defender Aubaas was denied by Tuks keeper Clive Gumede. It went to the halftime break with Galaxy leading 1-0.
After halftime, Dladla leveled matters for Tuks on the 73rd minute. With Galaxy trying to push for a winner, a mistake from the defence saw Mahlatsi netting a remarkable effort in the dying minutes of the game. 2-1 was the final score.
The loss means The Rockets are still on 12 points after 11 games whereas a win for Tuks takes them to fourth position with 18 points from 10 games.
