Ghana request neutral venue for Bafana match

In a statement released on Thursday morning, the Ghana Football Association has announced that they have written to Caf requesting for a change in venue for the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification clash against Bafana Bafana.

The Ghana FA is requesting the match to be played in a different country due to COVID-19 cases surge in South Africa.

Molefi Ntseki’s troops are scheduled to lock horns with the Black Stars in round 5 of the Afcon qualifiers on the 21st of March 2021.

“The Ghana FA sent the letter to Africa’s football governing body last week and is awaiting a response,” said the statement.

Ghana and South Africa are now level on points in Group C with nine points after four outings with two games left.
