Ex Kaizer Chiefs striker Kaizer Motaung Jr. has described being involved in the distributing of food parcels across the rural areas in the country as priceless and an honour to be able give a helping hand.
Motaung Jr. is an ambassador of the #Each1Feed1 food distribution initiative formed by the Siya Kolisi Foundation, the Nelson Mandela Foundation as well as the Imbumba Foundation.
The three foundations donated over 500 food parcels to 20 villages around the Vhembe District in Limpopo on Monday.
“You know Ntate (Kaizer) Motaung and the founders of this beautiful club of the people had a vision of love and peace and I think that is to show people that those two principles are the only way if we can pull together we can succeed in life,” said Motaung.
“The opportunity to be here today with the Imbumba Foundation, Nelson Mandela Foundation and of course the Kolisi foundation is great things and of course the Matsila Royal Foundation have enabled us to come and help and it has been a privilege and an hour and it speaks to the heart of the people.” He said.
“To highlight the plight and highlight areas that people need help is such a critical point of reference and it’s not just any more about food and it’s not about a programme that is a once-off drop and I think that is what makes this very unique. #Each1Feed1 is literally speaking to the core of what makes a person to be free” added the former 1860 Munich II player.
The food parcels are designed to feed a family of 5 for a month and it’s an initiative that will be taken to remote areas in all provinces.
