GladAfrica Championship penultimate round preview


The GladAfrica Championship penultimate round will be eagerly anticipated on Sunday,  with some mouth-watering duels set to take place.

All 16 teams will be in action and a lot is at stake with about five teams realistically in the race for honors, while relegation struggle is also under scrutiny.

Both Royal AM and Richards Bay FC who are two front-runners for the league title will be playing in Gauteng against University of Pretoria and Jomo Cosmos respectively.

A victory for Royal AM in Tuks Stadium coupled with a defeat for Richards Bay at Tsakane Stadium will confirm the Shaun Mkhize’s team as the league champions.

Meanwhile Sekhukhune United FC and TS Sporting can enter the fray with victories against Polokwane City and Uthongathi FC respectively.

Sekhukhune have 44 points, three behind leaders Royal AM and Sporting occupy fourth position with 43 points.

Already relegated Bizana Pondo Chiefs will lock horns with Pretoria Callies at King Zwelithini Stadium, while other relegation candidates Steenburg FC and Cape Town Spurs will clash with JDR FC and Free State Stars respectively.

A victory for Spurs in Goble Park and a win for JDR in Parow Park will confirm Steenburg’s awful season as they will go down to ABC Motsepe League.

All GladAfrica Championship fixture for round 28 will be played on Sunday 16 May 2021 and they all will start at 15:00.
