The Dobsonville Stadium was a noisy place on Saturday afternoon with a tiny crowd of Swallows FC fans in their full voice and colorful attire.
Unfortunately the fans left the stadium disappointed as ‘The Dube Birds’ dropped two crucial points in the title race at home as they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Uthongathi FC.

Swallows threw everything but the kitchen sink and still couldn’t break the Uthongathi tight defence.
Despite the draw, Swallows remain in second place on the GladAfrica Championship log, although leaders Ajax Cape Town opened up a seven-point lead after they grabbed a late winner against TS Galaxy at Cape Town Stadium.

‘The Cane Cutters’ head back to KwaZulu-Natal with a point and they are just a point behind Swallows, but without a head coach after the club parted ways with Johnny Ferreira a couple of days ago.
With their eyes set on gaining promotion to the Absa Premiership, the Brandon Truter mentored outfit are now without a win in their last two GladAfrica Championship matches as they suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of AmaTuks last Sunday and drew 1-1 against a defensively well organised Uthongathi side.
The Soweto based side will have to get maximum points in their last six remaining games to keep the pressure up on Ajax.
