Jomo Cosmos coach Jomo Sono says he was satisfied with just a point, considering Royal AM came hard at his side in the second stanza.
It was Cosmos’ sixth stalemate of the GladAfrica Championship season as they held AM to a goalless draw at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Sono’s men have now collected 19 points away from home this campaign with AM stretching their unbeaten league run to seven matches.
“We absorbed a lot of pressure from them, but it was not dangerous pressure as they were not creating anything, they were just playing in front of us and we are very happy with a point,” said Sono.
“I am happy with my team, they worked hard, they defended well, they played according to instructions, we didn’t create much as well, we didn’t look like we will get a goal,” added Sono.
AM remain third on the log standings with 28 points, level with first and second-placed Sekhukhune United and Richards Bay, while Cosmos are fifth with 24 points after 18 matches.
In the second game of the day, AmaTuks comfortably beat Cape United 2-0 at Parrow Park.
