Richards Bay jumped to the GladAfrica Championship summit for the first time this campaign after playing out to a goalless draw against Cape Umoya United at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

The KwaZulu-Natal side have enjoyed a good start to the 2020/21 season as they have also booked a place in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 after shocking Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at FNB Stadium recently.

In the second-tier league, they have bagged 24 points from 14 matches with six wins, five draws and two defeats.

In other results, it was a good day for Western Cape teams as Cape Town All Stars and Cape Town Spurs won their respective encounters.

CT All Stars beat high flying Sekhukhune United 1-0 thanks to a converted penalty by captain Ndiviwe Mdabuka early in the second half.

Spurs returned to winning ways as they narrowly edged newcomers Pretoria Callies 1-0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
