Matchday nine of the 2021/21 GladAfrica Championship season produced a total of 14 goals with a single encounter ending in a goalless draw.
GladAfrica newcomers Sekhukhune United have moved to the top of the log standings after beating Free State Stars 2-1 away at Goble Park on Saturday afternoon.
However, Sekhukhune are only at the summit on goal difference with second-placed JDR Stars having suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cape Town Spurs at Giant Stadium.
At Olen Park Stadium, Royal AM shocked Jomo Cosmos as they walked away with all three points after claiming a narrow 1-0 victory to extend their unbeaten run to six matches in the league.
Meanwhile, Steenberg United comfortably beat Cape Town All Stars 2-0 at Idas Valley Sports Ground on Saturday. It was CT All Stars’ second successive defeat.
The action resumed on Sunday with newly-promoted Pretoria Callies handing former Premiership side Polokwane City their third defeat in a row with a 2-1 win at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
At the Richards Bay Sports Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal, TS Sporting held Richards Bay to a 0-0 draw while the University of Pretoria stretched their winless run to six games as they also drew 1-1 with Uthongathi FC at the Tuks Stadium.
