GladAfrica Wrap: TTM win as Uthongathi drop crucial points

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhadila (TTM) came back from a goal down to beat Jomo Cosmos 2-1 at the Wits Rugby Stadium in Johannesburg on Tuesday afternoon.

Goals from Modibedi Ivan Mokoena and Thembisani Nevhulamba sealed victory for the Limpopo based outfit.

TTM move up into a playoff spot, second place on the GladAfrica Championship table with 41 points after 25 games, while Cosmos remain in 15th place – relegation zone.

Meanwhile, at the Randburg Rugby Stadium, Uthongathi were held to a goalless draw by JDR Stars.

Uthongathi are now third on the log standings, eight points adrift of leaders Ajax Cape Town and level with Swallows FC and TTM, all on 41 with five games remaining.

In the third game of the day, Free State Stars played out to a 0-0 against strugglers Royal Eagles at Sturrock Park.

Stars are five points away from a playoff spot in sixth place on 36 points while Eagles remain rooted at the bottom of the second-tier league on 19 points after 25 matches.
