Polokwane City and Zimbabwean number one goalkeeper George Chigova has joined football stars around the world in encouraging people to stay safe during this COVID-19 period.
Just like most teams, ‘Rise and Shine’ are on a special training programme as they try to stay fit before the season resumes post the coronavirus.
“I just want to urge people to stay calm, stay safe indoors and take care of their loves ones for us to fight this pandemic,” he told FARPost.
The 29-year-old has also reflected on his journeys with City since joining from SuperSport United.
“It’s been a wonderful journey, coming here getting more game time also being part of the players to be the first group to finish in the top 8. For me to have played more than 100 games for the team it’s something that makes me happy,” he said.
“I have learnt a lot from everyone around the team but also playing with players who have seen it all it the PSL, the likes of Jabu Maluleke, Edgar Manaka, Puleng Tlolane helps me to improve my game and learn a lot going forward.”
