Good player performances make good coaches, says Ncikazi

Golden Arrows coach Mandla Ncikazi has voiced his joy over his nomination as Dstv Premiership Coach of the Season.

Ncikazi has been nominated among the best coaches this season alongside AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy and Mamelodi Sundowns duo Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena.

The Abafana Bes’thende mentor has applauded his players for shining this season and subsequently making him shine as the coach.

“Let me take this opportunity to humbly thank the recognition of acknowledgement of our team’s performance this season, through my nomination,” Ncikazi started off.

“Good player performances make good coaches. I feel honoured and blessed to be amongst a group of hard working, honest and good players.

“I want to thank each one of them without reservations for their efforts. They have created their own history within the club and South African football,” he continued.

“I can’t ask for more as a coach, it’s a great feeling, I’m fulfilled with the growth of individual players in the team and their recognition in various forms,” echoed Ncikazi.

“The biggest joy in this season’s nominations in the coach’s category is a touch of KZN in it. Whether it’s Benni (McCarthy), Manqoba (Mngqithi) or me, the common denominator is the lovely province of KZN and Ethekwini.

“I just wish and hope that this is the beginning of good things in our team, the standard of football in the Dstv Premiership keeps on rising and next season will be even more challenging.

“Congratulations to all the nominees in all categories and eventual winners. I want to thank all coaches in the league for the great sportsmanship and professionalism throughout the season,” he concluded.
