Grobler on League title race

SuperSport United striker Bradley Grobler has conceded that the Absa Premiership title is now beyond their reach.

Matsatsantsa were derailed by Lamontville Golden Arrows in a 1-0 defeat at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday. Winning would have seen them regain their second spot on the log behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs.
“In terms of the league race, we gotta be honest. Chiefs are flying at the moment, (Mamelodi) Sundowns are doing well, Wits are in a good position with a lot of games in hand. So I think for us to say we gonna win the league now, it’s a bit optimistic,” Grobler admitted.
“It’s not over and it’s never over. In football strange things have happened. It’s gonna take a bit of a miracle but the league is not over for us. We wanna finish in the highest position as we can. We might not be going for number one now but there are other positions we are fighting for.”
SuperSport will take on Sundowns in what is expected to be a fierce Nedbank Cup Last 32 Tshwane Derby at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday night.
“Sundowns is always a difficult game. I think they have had an upper hand over us over the last few years. But I think we’ve been good against them in cup football.” added Grobler.
