Bradley Grobler put on a Man of the Match performance on Saturday night when he helped SuperSport United beat Black Leopards 2-0 at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on the opening day of the DStv Premiership.

He scored a brace on the day to secure the Tshwane-based outfit’s first win of the new season in the league.

Matsatsantsa are currently sitting in second place in the DStv Premiership table behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns with the same points (3 points). Goal difference separates the two teams.

Grobler also broke the deadlock in their MTN8 quarter-final encounter against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) a week before their Premiership opener.

Speaking to FARPost prior to the new season, the SuperSport hitman stated that he wants to continue with his fine scoring run in the new PSL campaign.

“When I came into the last season, many people were asking me what targets I have set for myself, and for me, there was really only one target and goal, and that was to just stay fit and play as many games as I can. But I hope to continue with my fine form in the new season for the betterment of the team. The coach and the club showed a lot of faith in me,” said Grobler.

The 32-year-old believes that his side got continuity as they will build on what they had last season and give it their best shot and see where they will end up in the 2020/21 season.

“Just looking at our current squad in all different positions, I think we have got a very competitive squad but I won’t come here and say we are going to win the league.

“I feel like the combination of the youth and experienced players is massive and well balanced therefore we need to compete right through to the end as we did last season,” he added.

Class and elegance is what Grobler had in abundance during their clash with Lidoda Duvha over the weekend. The talented forward finished third in the PSL goalscoring charts with 14 goals in the last campaign.
