Former Cape Town City defender Tshepo Gumede has returned to the club in search of employment.
Gumede, who also played for the likes of SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars in his career, is currently clubless.
He parted ways with AmaZulu recently.
He played his best football for the Citizens in the 2016/17 season, featuring in 28 of the club’s 30 league games under then coach Eric Tinkler, but was deemed surplus to requirements by then Benni McCarthy.
According to a source inside the club, the 28-year-old has been impressive at training, and all what is left now is for head coach Jan Olde Rierink to make his decision.
“Ja, Tshepo is here but he hasn’t signed yet. He’s been here since last week. I think he will sign because he’s an experienced player, and it’s showing”.
