Mamelodi Sundowns newly signed midfielder Haashim Domingo has expressed his desire to win the Caf Champions League with the club and also become a regular starter in the star-studded Tshwane side.
Domingo joined Sundowns at the beginning of the 2020/21 season from the now- Bidvest Wits, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract at Chloorkop.
The 25-year-old made his debut in the Brazilians’ opening clash of the season against Bloemfontein Celtic in the MTN8 quarterfinals, before also getting a run out in club’s opening DStv Premiership versus Kaizer Chiefs.
“I am enjoying the time I have spent with the club since joining and you know Sundowns have a lot of great players and that is what made me join the team. It has been a great time and I am learning every day at training,” said Domingo.
The former Amajita star spent some time overseas, Portugal in the colours of Vitória Guimarães SC B and was on loan at Raufoss IL in Norway before returning to South Africa. Before moving abroad, he also played for Ajax Cape Town, now known as Cape Town Spurs.
“I want to play regularly, help the team to win trophies more especially the CAF Champions League. By playing that will also help in my chances of playing for Bafana Bafana,” he concluded.
In the 2020/21 season of the Champions League, Sundowns have been given a preliminary stage bye and will face the winner between Jwaneng Galaxy from Botswana or US Zilimadjou of Comoros in the first round.
