A solitary Bongokuhle Hlongwane late strike earned Bafana Bafana maximum points in their second 2022 World Cup qualifier tie
Bafana Bafana beat Ghana at the FNB Stadium courtesy of an 83 minute goal by the Maritzburg United forward.
The two teams seemed headed for a goalless draw before the 21-year-old striker redirected Teboho Mokoena’s cross into the net.
The win saw Bafana ascend to the top of Group G after their goalless draw against Zimbabwe on Friday.
The Warriors take on Ethiopia on Tuesday away from home to complete the second round of Group G fixtures. A win for Zimbabwe will see them go level with Bafana while Ethiopia will be looking to bounce back after losing 1-0 to Ghana on Friday.
