Hero Oscarine Masuluke saves TS Sporting

TS Sporting beat Ajax Cape Town 4-3 on penalties thanks to the 2017 Fifa Puskas Award finalist’s heroics in goal Oscarine Masuluke.

The TS Sporting and ex-Baroka shot stopper Masuluke saved a total of 3 penalties and scored the winning penalty in the shootout following a 2-2 draw in their Nedbank Cup last 32 ecounter against fellow GladAfrica Championship side Ajax Cape Town at Athlone Stadium on Thursday evening.

Mbulelo Wagaba scored the opening goal of the match in the 13th minute to make it 1-0 to Sporting. Ajax grabbed a late equaliser with a minute left through substitute Sonwabile Mfecane to ensure the encounter goes into extra-time with the scores level at 1-1.

Oscarine Masuluke, middle was the hero.

Sporting restored their lead through Katlego Mojela in the 101st minute but Ajax fought back once again as Siphesihle Mkhize found the equaliser in the 115th minute. The game ended in a 2-2 draw with Masuluke being the hero for Abantu Bemthetho, in the shootout.

The win saw Sporting advance to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup while Ajax were eliminated from the tournament.
