Highlands Park have moved swiftly to rubbish reports that the club is on the verge of being sold.
Reports have emerged that the Lions of the North are one of the clubs intending to sell their Absa Premiership status, with TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi being mentioned as the potential buyer.
But co-chairman Brad Kaftel has refuted the claims insisting it’s business as unusual at the Tembisa-based club.
“Highlands FC hereby dismisses the unfounded rumours purporting the club as being on sale,” said Kaftel in an official statement.
“These rumours bring about uncertainty to the club, stakeholders and fans. They further tarnish the club’s reputation among potential sponsors and partners. The club continues in its quest to emerge as a formidable and competitive club in the country and the continent.
“There is no substance to that, it’s business as usual for Highlands Park,” concluded the statement.
Some of the clubs reported to be currently on sale in the Premier Soccer League include Bloemfontein Celtic, Bidvest Wits and Real Kings.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have already been sold.
