Bafana held at home by Ghana

Bafana Bafana were held to a 1-all draw by visiting Ghana in their penultimate 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier at FNB Stadium in Soweto.

The hosts had to come back from behind as The Black Stars opened the scoring two minutes into the second half via a well-taken goal by Kudus Mohammed.

But Brighton & Hove Albion player Percy Tau found the equaliser for Bafana in the 58th minute.

As a result of the draw, both nations move to 10 points in Group C, with Ghana at the summit.

However, the ramifications to qualify for the continental showpiece in Cameroon next year remains the same for Molefi Ntseki’s charges as they need to avoid defeat in their final game away to Sudan on Sunday.

Tau walked away with the Man of the Match award.
