Baroka FC’s quest to tighten their top eight spot in the DStv Premiership table has been halted by TS Galaxy as they went down to a 1-0 defeat at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.
Matsimela Thoka’s side dominated large parts of the first-half, however, failed to find a way past Galaxy’s goalkeeper Marlon Heugh.
But the unfazed Rockets created little of note with Bakgaga defending in numbers and looking comfortable in what was a slow-paced first 45 despite a few thrills.
At half-time both sides were level and it remained anyone’s game.
Back out for the remaining half, the Mpumalanga-based outfit started strongly and went on to find an opener through Ebrahim Seedat in the 73rd minute of the game.
Baroka improved in the latter stages, but Heugh was rarely tested in what was ultimately a disappointing evening in Polokwane for the hosts.
As things stand, Baroka sit 10th on the log standings with 28 points from 25 games, while Galaxy jumped up to the 8th position on the table with 29 points after 24 outings.
