Baroka FC moved up to the top-eight spot after playing to a goalless draw at home to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) in the Dstv Premiership encounter on Tuesday afternoon.
The much-awaited Limpopo derby showdown got off to a cagey start, as both sides struggled to find any real momentum within the first 15 minutes of the clash.
One team wanted to spoil; the other wanted to play. While Bakgaga were determined to make the contest as dull as possible, Dylan Kerr gave Vhadau Vha Damani freedom to express themselves.
TTM continued to mount pressure on the hosts – taking control of proceedings, but largely failed to break down Baroka’s defensive lines.
However, right at the end of the first period, Matsimela Thoka’s troops pushed forward in order to find an opener but their efforts were not good enough to earn the side a lead.
The visitors pinned Baroka back at the start of the second half, and they had to remain organised in and around their own penalty box.
As the clock ticked down, Baroka tried to turn the tables around – searching for a dramatic late goal, but all hopes ended when referee Eugene Mdluli blown his whistle calmly to end the game.
The result leaves the Ga-Mphahlele-based outfit on the 8th position with 33 points after 28 games.
Meanwhile, TTM jumped to the 12th place on the table with 29 points from 28 outings.
