Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic played out to a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.

Celtic showed character and managed to salvage a point at home.

Happy Mashiane gave the visitors an early lead with just three minutes played. The winger scored a beautiful free-kick that beat Jackson Mabokgwane at his near post

Nine minutes later, Eric Mathoho rose the highest to head the ball home and doubled the lead for Amakhosi after a beautiful cross from Lebogang Manyama from the left wing.

On-form attacker Neo Maema pulled a goal back for the home side in the 21st minute. Celtic finished the first half the stronger of the two sides with victor Letsoalo and Ndumiso Mabena coming close to equalising, but Daniel Akpeyi made two brilliant saves.

Letsoalo leveled matters from the penalty spot for the home side after Siyabonga Ngezana committed a foul in the box, 2-2.

In the 82nd minute, the attacker could have secured all three points for John Maduka’s side, but Akpeyi stood tall between the posts.

Elsewhere, TS Galaxy stunned Cape Town City at Mbombela Stadium. Mxolisi Macuphu’s second half strike was enough to secure all three points for Owen Da Gama’s side.
