Richards Bay have caused a huge upset by beating Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.
An upset was on the cards as the visitors from KwaZulu Natal went into the break 1-0 to the good, courtesy of a header by Thabani Gumede.
But an equaliser by Leonardo Castro in the second half gave Amakhosi some hope, only for Siyabonga Vilane to score at the death to hand the GladAfrica Championship side a famous win.
Understandably, Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt was livid with the result.
“Yeah, the first word that comes to me is ’embarrassing’ you know. On a personal level I don’t think I have ever lost to a first division side in 26, 27 years (in football). So it was bit embarrassing from that perspective,” he reflected.
