Kaizer Chiefs missed out on a chance to walk away with all the three points as they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic in a DStv Premiership clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
But in the end, the result was perhaps a fair reflection of the action on show. Both teams had periods of dominance and both had numerous scoring opportunities.
On the balance of play, ‘Amakhosi’ will feel they should have sneaked it as they had the better chances, especially after taking the lead, but Celtic it has to be said, gave as good as they got.
The game got off to a lively opening ten minutes, with Chiefs impressing with some neat football and opening the scoring through Anthony Akumu Agay.
However, ‘Siwelele’ came out with intent in the second half and carved out a number of opportunities in the opening few minutes. The pressure eventually told and Celtic found the equaliser through Tumelo Mangweni in the 67th minute.
Chiefs have now gone six league matches without a win, a run which has brought them four points from a possible 18.
