Baroka beat Chippa in Gqeberha

Baroka FC boost their top-eight hopes with a 1-0 victory over Chippa United in the DStv Premiership clash at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

The hosts controlled possession earlier in the first-half, but struggled to create many clear-cut opportunities.

However, the visitors grew increasingly frustrated before the half-time break and finally found the back of the net through Goodman Mosele in the 41st minute of the game.

The Chilli Boys showed more sense of urgency after the break mounting pressure on Bakgaga, but their efforts in attack were unsuccessful as Baroka held on for what could prove to be a crucial three points in the race for the last eight.

As a result, the Limpopo-based outfit have jumped up to the eighth place in the Premier Soccer League log standings, while Chippa currently sit 15th in the table.
