Mhlongo comes back to haunt Leopards


Swallows moved up to level on points with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns following a 2-1 win against Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

The Dube Birds had to come back from a goal down to secure maximum points to make it 18 out of a possible 24 points this season.

Leopards opened the scoring through Onyedikachi Ononogbu in the sixth minute.

Swallows found an equaliser three minutes before half time with a goal by striker Ruzaigh Gamildien.

But the moment of the match belonged to former Leopards player Joseph Mhlongo who netted the winner, four minutes after coming on.

Swallows remain second on the DStv Premiership table while Leopards remain second from bottom with five points from eight matches.
