Chiefs beat TS Galaxy to move into top-eight

Kaizer Chiefs moved into eighth place in the DStv Premiership table as the Soweto giants secured a 1-0 pivotal win over TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It was action-packed from the start and the attempts on goal were in constant supply, making the game good viewing for spectators watching from the heart of their comfort homes.

The hosts looked lively in the game’s opening exchanges, dominating possession but missing a couple of clear cut chances.

However, chances were few and far between from that point on for the Mpumalanga-based outfit.

It took 25 minutes before we could witness the first goal of the match from either side.

With victory guaranteeing the top-eight finish, Amakhosi turned the tables around as they spent the majority of the first half toiling at the finish line of their opponents which resulted into a goal from Samir Nurković in the 26th minute.

Back out for the remaining half, Chiefs started strongly just like how they finished the first half – taking control of the encounter.

The Rockets began to cause the visitors problems down the left, but their efforts were not good enough to break Chiefs’ backline.

As a result, Amakhosi will compete in the next edition of the MTN8 tournament.

Meanwhile, Galaxy missed out on making a history for qualifying for the top-eight in their first season in the South African football top-flight.
