Orlando Pirates were bitterly disappointed to drop two points as they played to a frustrating goalless draw in a DStv Premiership match against Golden Arrows at Orlando Stadium, Soweto on Wednesday evening.
The draw means the ‘Sea Robbers’ have dropped five points in the past two matches in the league, and loss ground on the leading pack.
Pirates dominated the first half but lacked the killer instinct in the final third despite having the bulk of the possession. The Soweto giants came close to opening the scoring in the 36th minute when Thembinkosi Lorch hit the upright with the Arrows goalkeeper Sifiso Mlungwana well beaten.
Arrows were the better side in the second half and should have stole the maximum points, but it wasn’t to be. But they remain unbeaten in the league.
With the draw, Pirates also drop to sixth place on the log standings with 18 points after 12 matches, while Arrows remain fourth with 19 points having played a game less
