Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila advanced to the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals after winning the penalty shoot-out 4-3 against Swallows at a wet Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The scores were locked at 2-all at the end of regulation time and extra-time failed to separate the two teams in this quarterfinal round clash.
Thabo Mnyamane opened the scoring in the 18th minute for the home side but Sipho Sibiya found the equaliser on the stroke of halftime for the Soweto outfit.
A few minutes into the second half, TTM took the lead once again, this time through Rhulani Manzini. However veteran defender Vuyo Mere made it 2-2 in the 75th minute. Both teams failed to find the back of the net in extra-time as the game was decided via penalties.
