Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has laughed off Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane’s comments that he should do them a favour and beat Kaizer Chiefs when they meet in their 2 league games.
With less than 10 matches to go before the end of the season with Amakhosi still leading at the top, 7 points above the Brazilians who also have a game in hand.
Chiefs and Wits are yet to meet this season and Mosimane was quoted last week saying he would call Hunt to tell him to do his work (against Chiefs).
Speaking to reporters in Polokwane on Saturday, Hunt responded to the comments.
“What do you want me to say? (Laughs). He has been in the game longer and he knows more than I do. He said it in a tongue-in-cheek did he? So it’s a joke it’s all good,” said Hunt.
“I take it as a joke, we are trying to fight our own battles as well so they are in the CAF (Champions league) and they are doing very well so yeah it’s a joke – it’s a tongue-in-cheek and I like it,” he added.
Wits will play Chiefs on Wednesday, March 13 away as well as Friday, April 24 at home.
