Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt has said that Phathutshedzo Nange could be out for sometime after the midfielder was at the receiving end of a ‘bad tackle’ in Wits’ thrilling Absa Premiership 3-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday evening at Bidvest Stadium.
When Hunt was asked if Nange’s injury it’s serious, the Wits mentor said, “I think it was a red card. In South Africa you can go over the top and break someone’s leg, no problem but if you swear you get a red card.
“We have to get that right in the game, it was a bad tackle, he was magnificent (against Celtic), he is a fantastic player, he just came to us, he has a lot to offer but he could be out for some time now, “concluded Hunt.
Nange, who opened the scoring with a beautifully taken strike into the top corner of the net for Wits against Celtic, was signed from Black Leopards in 2019.
The 28-year-old midfielder has played 16 games in all competitions for the Students, scoring twice.
Wits will next face a struggling Cape Town City side on Saturday at Cape Town Stadium.
