Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt is not particularly pleased with the performance of his striking force upfront who he claims are failing to find the back of the net this season.
Wits’ title aspirations were dealt a huge blow as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of SuperSport United on Saturday night at Mbombela Stadium.
The defeat means the gap between leaders Chiefs and Wits, in sixth position, is now 14 points although the ‘Students’ have two games in hand.
“We haven’t scored goals the whole year [season],” said a frustrated Hunt.
“Because I mean you got players who play 28, 29 games and scored one goal upfront.
“So where we are is a miracle, for what we got we have done very well,” added the Wits coach.
‘The Clever Boys’ top goal scorers this season are Gift Motupa and Deon Hotto, who are both on five goals followed by captain and defender Thulani Hlatshwayo on four hits.
Hunt and his boys’ next Absa Premiership encounter will be against Chippa United who recently parted ways with their head coach Norman Mapeza.
Kickoff at 20:15, Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.
