Kgotso Moleko is confident that Kaizer Chiefs will “go all the way” and clinch the Absa Premiership title for the first time in five years.
“We are going all the way, for me, I don’t know about my teammates, I have the confidence about us, I am definitely sure about that, we are going all the way,” said Moleko ahead of their League game against AmaZulu on Saturday evening at FNB Stadium.
‘Amakhosi’ are top of the log standings with 48 points, seven ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns; and they head into their clash against ‘Usuthu’ on a high following their crucial 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby last Saturday.
“The confidence has been there, I won’t say is a victory [over Pirates] that will take the confidence up, the confidence has been there, so it was all about how we approach the game,” added the Chiefs right-back.
“Sometimes you have to lose but for me I would say it was a good win so that we can get our confidence back but as I have said we still have our confidence…”
Moleko was part of Chiefs team that won the 2014/15 League title which happens to be the last time the ‘Glamour Boys’ lifted a trophy of any kind.
“Most of the guys now want it more, some of them they haven’t won it before and I think they have started realising that is good to win, the stake is there so is all about how you want it,” admitted the 30-year-old defender.
“I am happy to be here, if we win it, like I said we are going all the way so I am happy that I am going to be part of the squad that has won it once again so I would be very happy in my career.”
Beaming with confidence, Moleko also said that Chiefs will beat AmaZulu on Saturday. Kickoff at 20:15.
“We are going to win this game [against AmaZulu] and it is going to be much easier to focus on the upcoming games that we are going to be playing against Wits and other teams that are under us.”
