Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Ricardo Goss has accepted his punishment from the PSL’s disciplinary committee.
Goss, together with Sameehg Doutie, have been handed 8-match bans after being found guilty of abusing referee Masixole Mambiso during their Absa Premiership match against Cape Town City in January.
Four of the matches are suspended, which means they will serve four matches.
“I fully accept the sentence… I deserve to be punished,” Goss told the Sowetan newspaper.
The downside is that Goss may miss out on being called up to Bafana Bafana’s squad to face Sao Tome and Principe in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“I am a bit disappointed that I might not be called up to the national team because I will not be playing. It’s a sad thing to miss the chance of playing for the national team,” Goss added.
